What We Look For
Unlike some investment firms, RAM Holdings does not seek to complete numerous transactions. Rather, the firm focuses on a small number of businesses and works diligently to make those companies more valuable. We prefer to achieve outstanding returns on a small number of investments, instead of average returns on a high volume of deals.
In what types of companies does RAM seek to invest? We look for manufacturing or distribution businesses with revenues between $10 million and $50 million. We prefer companies that have established themselves in their industry or niche. Their brand should be respected and known. Companies that can benefit from new marketing and sales strategies, grow by acquiring related businesses or reduce costs by sourcing products from overseas suppliers can benefit especially from a partnership with RAM Holdings.
RAM Holdings avoids investments in early stage or technology-driven businesses, companies with short product life cycles or concentrated customer bases. We look for businesses with secure market positions and defensible cost advantages upon which to build.
